I think that under the DUNA structure, we’ve consciously unlocked the ability to interact with the real world — which requires certain actions that can’t be performed purely onchain. Things like:

• Opening a bank account
• Signing a contract with a real-world vendor
• Holding domain names or managing social media accounts
• Filing taxes or resolving legal issues

These aren’t edge cases — they’re part of what it means for a DAO to grow up. DUNA admins are execution agents for the DAO’s will at the moment.

Seems to be lacking a ton of detail imo I’m all for shooting from the hip but this is light

I'd don't know what sort of views dusk or jane represent aside from breakeven movement. I'm optimistic about folks wanting to take responsibility in nouns, but I don't feel comfortable given how little I know about the two folks here.

I'd love to listen in to a few spaces hosted on some other channel to test the waters here though

I'm against this proposal for the same reasons I was against prop 773.

While I appreciate Ivo, an attorney in good standing, chiming in, he inadverdantly strengthened the position I'm presenting. A DUNA Administrator is defined in the law as "a person authorized by the DUNA members to perform administrative or operational tasks at the direction of the membership."

We seem very clearly to have created a de facto Administrator and seem likely to do so again here. As the author's of the model DUNA legislation have said, there is "...a significant burden on DUNAs to narrowly empower the authority of administrators and to consider the obligations and duties arising from the application of agency laws to any authorization of authority," which we have not lived up to or taken seriously. I like the automated solution with a mechanism of post approval (offchain but token gated). Thanks for the volunteer heros though, i would have vote yes, if the automated way was not an option.

This proposal certainly helped me spend more time on structuring my thoughts on the future of what media and distribution should look like for Nouns. I see the short term appeal of (re-)activating the "official" X account. Long term I'm much more bullish on getting rid of it ASAP and letting voices emerge that have a strong POV for and with Nouns.

The tides for "content" and "social platforms" have changed their intervals and have moreso become strong currents that constantly change direction.

That said, I hope to see many to feel entitled to be vocal about Nouns through their lens and curate a strong POV into Nouns that attracts individuals who are aligned with the person's POV.

We're better off letting the market and people decide who should speak "for Nouns" instead of inflating a vessel like "the official brand account".

I’ve always had a strong opinion that Nouns shouldn’t have an “official voice,” and even after three years building here, I’m still not sure how we should move forward on this.

I appreciate the willingness of @0xjanedoe.eth and @0xdusk.eth to run the account, and my suggestion would be for them to create a community-run project and build from there.

I’m also not sure onchain proposals are the right path for this kind of decision — but if they are, I believe it should come from the admins who currently have access to the account.

voting YES to get the ball rolling on this, the huge focus on twitter/X has me concerned that nouns fans do exist on other social media communication platforms.

for the question of decentralization, i believe the delegate function of twitter/X is similar to being a nouns delegate

Proposal is lacking detail

in favor of re-activating the @nounsdao X account, and appreciate the generous offer to fund a full-time social media manager. Would also prefer to see examples first and see if anyone else wants to apply, but would be willing to test in prod as long as the proposal explicitly stated that DUNA admins have the authority to revoke access for any reason.

I could be wrong here, but one concern I have is that even though there's no onchain component, DUNA admins would be bound by this proposal if it passed, and if anything were to go wrong (ie. the managing account was compromised), it would take a week to revoke access.

Happy to be wrong about this (please lmk), but still think clarifying this in an updated version of the prop would be worthwhile.

Re: the focus of the account: +1 to suggestions to focus on liking, QTing, and RTing relevant content, which I think an ElizaOS agent could do arguably better but definitely cheaper than a human (and am considering putting a prop up for this). a weekly X space would be awesome, but also caution against overlapping the focus/format too much with nouncil.

would have preferred we put up a prophouse round and let everyone submit their POW and best posts and let that single person go wild (staying within bounds) for x-amount of time.

Cares supports this proposal and is willing to help build and grow Nouns channels at no cost to the DAO.

We’d rather see the X account active, even in a learning phase, than stagnant. This is a step toward correcting the DAO’s quiet, disconnected trajectory. Consistent, governance-focused Spaces and posts can help rebuild trust and visibility.

This role should remain outside current social circles to avoid further favor trading. It requires neutral operators with actual comms experience.

Too often, those preaching “community and culture” in nouns also consolidate power behind the scenes. There is currently no real community or culture in nouns, just the illusion of it. It’s time to reset the tone, and this could be a healthy first step.

I think more is more as far as use case for the X goes. If @mikegood is on board I am too.
