If this doesn't pass I encourage some kind stranger to delegate a few votes to metagov.nounsamigos.eth. Mono and Lex are wonderful community builders and are in a unique position to bring new active voices and votes to Nouns governance. Momentum is a precious thing.
It pains me to vote against this cause I do really miss seeing Nouns Amigos on chain, but agree with these- for 3 nouns I'd prefer a delegate system instead of just handing them out, even with the voting record already shown.
If the wait for that is too long, I'd probably vote For a single noun based on the history and the people involved, prove the experiment with more recent on-chain voting (a lot can happen in 6 months) and build up to 3.
The consensus on how, when and to whom treasury nouns are handed out seems to be changing by the day:
I didn't know how passionate the Latin American community was about Nouns until ETHDenver this year. While I was at the vending machine connecting with ⌐◨-◨ fans, all of the sudden my attention was pulled from a conversation to a genuine discovery happening.
All I heard was: "Uueeee!!! LOS NOOOOOONS!!!" and 4 guys sprinting towards me. This happened several times throughout the conference.
And then, through Nouns Town, I got to connect and collaborate with Mono and Lex. Two genuinely passionate and professional builders. It was an absolute blast working with them.
It's pretty simple to me: There are true fans. There are serious builders who are capable of making things happen.
3 Nouns? If this proposal doesn't pass, I hope you return and ask for 6.
As a Latino, I think Nouns definitely needs a Spanish presence. I don’t think this gets us there. I tried joining myself as I want to help with this proliferation but found it hard to join or get involved, could be just a me issue. But overall delegation over outright handing makes more sense to me
Lets go Nouns Amigos!!! I'm part of this amazing community and it has been a life changing quest for me and several other member for sure! Build Build!
Rather than leaving nouns sitting idle in the treasury or gifting them arbitrarily to gov-inactive folks, i think we're better off empowering the already active LatAm community with an on-chain voice!
¡Arriba, arriba! ❤️
This.
Nouns Amigos I think is the only sub DAO "region" that has been most consistent in spreading Nouns in its region and deserves to be the delegate of this Nouns!
Being latin american would love to give more involvement to spanish speaking region
Met them at our NBS hub. Personally believe in them of doing a great job! LFG
"Uueeee!!! LOS NOOOOOONS!!!" I have always been all in on the Amigos. The team always brings great execution and immaculate vibes. beyond that the content that they bring with them is always incredible and does great things for the community.

I'm a big fan of Mono Lex and the amigos. However I believe we should stop giving out treasury nouns. We are feeding a narrative that you don't ever have to buy a noun on the auction because you can always get it as compensation or retro. That narrative will keep eating away at the nft monetary value. I know 2 people who considered buying a noun at auction but were disincentivized seeing as there were many pathways to getting one for "free". I say we burn 90% of treasury nouns. Owning a noun should have a weight to it, a stake. That's way so many gifted and delegated nouns never vote. I doubt this would be the case here, but imo we need to change our stance completely, and now.

I don't know enough about the history here; would prefer to continue delegation vs outright noun grant.
I'd love to give the Latin American voices of Nouns a bit more voting power. Love these designs!
Nouns Amigos community is incredibly active, their discord is always popping and they've shown great governance in the past.
I think you should try getting delegations from existing holder rather than getting Nouns directly. A campaign in Farcaster to attract holders could work
I agree. Would love to see delegation from the treasury enabled before experiments like this. And when proven effective, reward nouns as retro maybe. I think there'd be multiple metagov groups that would be deserving of nouns too.
Until we have better sub-delegation tools (allowing the DAO to retain custody while another party can re-delegate the votes) and simultaneously a fix for the bug that allows bricking a Noun with delegation (https://mirror.xyz/verbsteam.eth/TP917T6vm6gXuVAxbQ34ZCn7dNiHabu3UW-ninwalVc) —both coming soon!— it’s best to not transfer Nouns out and instead find alternate ways to achieve the same governance experiments.

Not strictly against this but finding delegators is probably the better move, and should not be too hard.

this is mostly mono and lex voting from what I can see, dont think it's going to lead to significant onboarding. would suggest direct delegation to individual members.
I think it's a great idea that would empower Spanish-speaking noun builders by contributing their talent, ideas and community to the growth of nouns and their contribution to culture. Regarding the technical challenges for the delegation of votes, they could be used freely like any other Noun. The vision of giving people the opportunity to participate in the DAO, as it works now, could shape critical constructors and readers of proposals and that it is also done in public seems something innovative to me, I sign with this direction in the multi-signature portfolio. Vamos!

Requesting 3 nouns (566, 575, 768) for Nouns Amigos and resume meta-governance.
At the beginning of 2024, Wag delegated 3 Nouns to Nouns Amigos. This delegation was unexpected but very well received—being able to vote on-chain as a new governance body was a huge milestone for the Nouns Amigos community.
The delegation was active for around three months. During this time, Nouns Amigos holders could vote through the Nerman bot in our Discord.
During this time, the performance of metagov.nounsamigos.eth looked like this:
| Quantity | Description | | -------- | ------------------------- | | 80 | Total proposals | | 65 | Voted proposals (81%) | | 24.5% | Average participation | | 51 | Votes with reason (78.6%) |
Despite challenges (language barrier, weekly calls, shorter voting window, multisig signatures, voting fatigue, etc.), we constantly participated as a meta-governance body.
The participation of Nouns Amigos in Nouns governance was one of the key ingredients for being closer to Nouns and having our own identity and voice in the DAO. We started to do weekly calls where we discussed active proposals and had a few proposers approach us to pitch. We still maintain the same weekly call today (9 months in a row), discussing our proposals on Snapshot and increasing constant participation from the community.
We request Noun 566, 575, and 768 for the Nouns Amigos community to resume our participation in Nouns governance.
The voting process will be carried out using the Nerman bot in the Nouns Amigos Discord and subsequently executing the on-chain vote from the metagov.nounsamigos.eth Safe—the same process that we had before.
For this new stage of meta-governance, we want to expand the possibility of voting to those with the `amigo` role in the Nouns Amigos Discord, thus creating a new opportunity for the broader community to participate in Nouns governance:
Owning Nouns will put us again on the governance map. We will bring our point of view and make Nouns Amigos a two-sided way where Nouns can participate in Nouns Amigo's decision-making and vice versa.
¡Gracias, amigos!
