Nouns House during Devcon Kismet Casa is hosting a residency from November 7th to November 19th, exclusively for 15 creators and developers in Bangkok, Thailand during Devcon.
Value Proposition Outside of supporting members of the Nouns community to attend Devcon and ETHGlobal Bangkok, we believe we can bring more exposure to Nouns than the average proposal for a physical booth or spectacle at a lower cost while creating direct impact. Most proposals ask for more than 10 ETH to produce a physical representation at these conferences that do garner attention but nothing hits like having a group of talented individuals talking about the support they received from the Nouns community to create together IRL and attend such meaningful events while wearing and distributing sick Nouns merch. We are incredibly lucky to work with value-aligned organizations who understand the impact we create and would be privileged to have support from the Nouns community in our effort to create value for the Nouns community.
Outcome At Kismet Casa, the residents we accommodate collaborate together in real life to create new work based on their personal inspiration as well as their surroundings of where the residency takes place. For example, in Tokyo during EDCON our developers participated in the EDCON Hackathon where the winners showcased their projects at United Nations University for Demo Day.
Our artists worked together to create meaningful art that we exhibited at Nox Gallery in Shibuya for both the EDCON community and the local community. Our opening party for our Exhibition in Shibuya had over 200 attendees throughout the night. One of our residents, Jotta, collaborated with a local artist, Itti, to produce a visual and audio performance to kickstart the opening party then two of our residents, Aura & Zak from Zora played a few sets.
We subsequently ran the gallery for two weeks where over 300 crypto natives and locals experienced our exhibition. Several artists were from Argentina which attracted the attention of the Argentinian Embassy in Tokyo.
The Kismet Casa Exhibition during EDCON included work from Chris Carella and Joe Carmagnola, two popular artists in the Nouns community.
We created a lot of attention and exposure for Kismet Casa, our residents and our partners at EDCON and after talking with the Nouns community there we decided to begin planning to do the same for the Nouns community at Devcon. The main goal of Kismet Casa is to support talented individuals who need our accommodations to attend these events. The main outcome of Nouns House Devcon is to team up with Nouns to expand our impact while directly creating value for Nouns by creating an environment for the Nouns community to organically create meaningful relationships and artwork together in person.

Why? Devcon hosts technical conferences to educate and empower the community to build and use decentralized systems. Their goal is to push the boundaries of possibility in our mission to bring decentralized protocols, tools, and culture to the world. However, as great as Devcon is at creating an incredibly high quality environment for discussing and producing innovation there is an opportunity to enable more creativity and culture.
Kismet Casa’s value is based on our contributions to the creation of culture by merging imagination with practice. It provides a space where ideas and creativity turn into actions that shape shared narratives by allowing creators to reflect on and produce new cultural forms. We foster collaboration between builders and creators to make culture a dynamic process that connects people through shared stories and experiences. As a proliferator of vibes and culture, we believe Nouns is the perfect partner to help expand the scope of Devcon and work towards their mission of merging decentralized infrastructure with culture.
Devcon, being a developer conference, has always had a heavy technical focus but there is growing interest from the community to cater more towards creatives. Not only do we want to support more expansive programming and support Nounish creators to attend such a meaningful event but we also want to foster real collaboration between the developer community and the artistic community in Thailand.
Objectives Opportunities in Thailand: We recognize that Southeast Asia, especially Thailand, has a wealth of crypto-native talent. Our goal is to create opportunities that ignite a passion for Ethereum and more specifically, the Nouns ecosystem.
Development and Expansion: We aim to foster an environment conducive to innovation and creativity by encouraging builders and creators to explore how their needs align with Nouns and the Thai community. Our objective is to contribute significantly to the ongoing growth and evolution of Nouns and its creative ecosystem.
A Space for All The goal is to establish lasting connections among participants by cultivating a space for all. The spirit of Kismet Casa is consistently centered on creating an inclusive environment where everyone is invited to participate and contribute to building onchain solutions. It’s important to us that we create a collaborative environment where developers and artists can work together to build consumer facing products that provide net new experiences.
We will be working alongside our residents to build out innovation that benefits the community while sparking creativity that brings their experiences onchain. We will be focusing their energy on creating art and developing solutions in line with the needs and the culture of Thailand. We also plan to have a space that is open to any Nounish artists in Bangkok that would like to collaborate with our residents and participate in the residency.

Events Family Dinner The Welcome Family Dinner is the first shared activity where all participants come together as a family. It's a special opportunity for everyone to connect, and for our partners and industry leaders to meet the selected residents in an intimate and engaging setting. We host several family dinners throughout our residencies because a family that eats together, stays together.
Art Activity The Art Activity invites participants to explore local culture through creative experiences. It could be visiting a botanical garden to inspire a group artwork or engaging in a creative session with artists from the local community. Our flexible approach allows artists to draw from their surroundings and collaborate meaningfully with others.
Art Exhibition The Art Exhibition showcases both the individual works created by participants during the residency and collaborative group pieces. The event features an opening minting party, inviting everyone in the city to celebrate the art produced during the program. We are also working to display the art at the main venue for Devcon to bring more exposure to the artists and to Nouns.
