Let’s be honest—who doesn’t absolutely adore snakes? These slithering marvels have charmed their way into our collective hearts as symbols of wisdom, rebirth and even malevolence. From ancient Egyptian deities to contemporary horror flicks, snakes have managed to be both revered and reviled, effortlessly embodying everything from cunning to cool. Their sleek, scaly elegance makes them the ultimate icon of both fear and fascination, proving they’re the perfect fit for our collection. After all, what’s not to love about something that coils its way into the deepest, darkest corners of our imagination and emerges as the ultimate symbol of intrigue?
Design Process

Firstly, I was shocked and excited when I realised that a Snake head trait wasn't already a part of the Nouns collection, as it is such an iconic and significant animal and cultural symbol. So I enthusiastically got to work. I knew from the start that the head must be the full snake body, as it is a fun way to make it more silly and nounish. I am also a big fan of minimal blocky design, so that was definitely another design consideration. Designing the head part of the snake was a relatively straightforward process, I was excited when I locked in the eye design, giving the snake a lot of personality. The body, however, was more challenging. My first break through was deciding on a coiled body, but I still felt there was something a little off. I eventually asked the community to give feedback, which proved to be very helpful. A few notable members gave very constructive feedback in regard to what wasn't working with the body. The second and final breakthrough was realising I could use the snake pattern as the mouth, after that everything pretty quickly fell into place.

Compensation
If this proposal is passed, I would like to receive Noun 199 as compensation in exchange for the added head trait. For me, receiving a Noun is about showing my long-term commitment to the community. I believe in its future success, and having a stake in that future is important to me. While USDC or ETH is an option, I prefer Nouns because they represent alignment with the community’s growth, and they would motivate me to participate more as I learn.
About Me
I'm tummlin, a super fan of Nouns iconic art from way back. Making 100s of art/memes inspired by Nouns. I was also heavily involved in the first 2 Nouniversaries, spending many months studying Nouns artwork, creating my own head traits and assisting other artists with their designs. I have been lucky enough to have my Tiger head trait included in the collection.
