Intro / tl;dr
For the past two years, Nouns has funded public goods, ranging from governance platforms to open-source brands. What if we could take this further by providing physical infrastructure for Nouns and communities that resonate with us?
We are asking $414K upfront (+$276K streamed over 15 months) to bring Nouns into everyday life, creating a physical hub dedicated to promoting our values through culture, technology, events, and community projects. It will be the way for people to interact with the Nouniverse via a sustainable business, forever.
In order to bring Nouns House to life, we will completely rename and revamp an existing venue - @LoginEXP, a leading gaming hub and bar, with over 50,000 monthly foot traffic and 2,000+ recurring visitors. It is located in one of the most visited neighborhoods in São Paulo, Brazil, the world's fourth-largest city.
(Click HERE to watch the teaser)
We are seeking funding to permanently rename and remodel the massive space into Nouns House, a nounish, public good landmark. The venue will be upgraded with a coworking area, audio and video recording studios, and a gaming arena, and to host a calendar full of events, including hackathons, conventions, and workshops.
This will be a one-time investment from Nouns, we are building a business that will be self-sustainable within 15 months and won't need funding afterwards.
Currently, @LoginEXP is already a popular venue for gamers and creators in Brazil, attracting over 2,000 visitors monthly and hosting several high-profile events with partners like Riot Games and Monster.
Our plan is to completely rebrand to Nouns House and remodel the space to attract a wider audience, from web3 enthusiasts, to startups, and creative builders. We will introduce several new areas to the venue:
This will be our main gathering space, it is a fully modular area where most of the events will be hosted (workshops, meetups, tournaments, hackathons, artist showcases).
During weekdays it will serve as a dynamic hangout spot where visitors can eat, relax and connect.
This is a public good area, open for any builder to access. It features collaborative workstations and meeting rooms available on a daily basis. This space is aimed at fostering new web3/tech projects and teams, establishing Nouns House as a reference center for innovation and collaboration.
In order to help the business's sustainability, there will be a subscription option for our most frequent visitors, granting them perks such as unlimited access, private rooms, coffee and water, networking events, discounts and airdrops.
This is a dedicated space for artists and builders to create content for their projects. It features a podcast studio with a nounish backdrop, a live streaming area, five high-end PCs for production and editing, and a photo/video studio.
We are excited to partner with Nouns Esports to create the first, fully nounish, Nouns Esports Arena!
It will feature a 5x5 face-to-face PC layout with live streaming capabilities, allowing us to host tournaments, bootcamps, game launch events and collaborate with Nouns Esports creators.
Our first collaboration with Nouns Esports will involve hosting a series of special events with Taki - a Nouns Esports, Brazilian, gaming content creator with a huge gaming following:
The venue will feature a main bar and social area, completing our events space. It has a massive 12,400 square inch screen, ideal for tournaments, watch parties, and dynamic footage during events.
Here we'll serve a range of food and drinks, including items inspired by and directly tied to Nouns lore, like CC0 products such as Public Good Beer.
Nouns House will count on year-round activations of the space, including workshops, hackathons, meetups, conferences, tournaments and more. We have laid out several events for the first year of operations.
Community Collabs: Events organized in partnership with communities, placing Nouns House as the "home of web3".
Nouns House Originals: Content and IPs created by the team with the goal of communicating nounish culture to the world.
B2B Partnerships: Events organized in partnership with major companies in the web3, gaming, and tech ecosystems, as we have done before.
We already hosted a Base meetup at the venue, bringing over 80 builders for a night of talks, networking and nounish vibes!
(Click HERE to watch the full video of our recent Base meetup held at the venue)
With the above combined we already have more than 9 recurring events confirmed. We invite everyone to join in and also host an event at Nouns House.
Nouns House won't be limited to IRL experiences. We are bringing several integrations to also feature an online and onchain presence:
We are building a literal Mint Machine - a large interactive totem, where visitors can create, or submit their creations and mint them onchain as an open edition. The mints will be generated through the Nouns House address, creating a curated collection of original, nounish, art.
*The proceeds from minting fees will be fully sent to each artist.
Focusing our efforts on Farcaster and X, we will regularly share updates, event highlights, and behind-the-scenes. Most events will also be live-streamed, enabling people from all over the world to participate. Our objective is to showcase Nouns House as a success case to the web3 ecosystem and beyond.
The current model thrives by offering a space for gamers and creators, hosting events, and Food & Beverage services.
As we expand and turn into Nouns House, we'll add new revenue streams including memberships, more events, sponsorships, and venue rental. LoginEXP already has partnerships with top gaming and entertainment brands, and we aim to secure new partnerships with major web3 and tech brands.
We are pleased to announce Ledger will be a day-1 partner of Nouns House, hosting events and having a permanent presence in the venue.
Below we describe our most impactful revenue streams:
As we're leveraging our position as a national hub for web3, gaming, and tech communities, global brands recognize the value of being part of our ecosystem and pay for custom activations and spaces within our venue.
We will also keep current venue sponsorship deals with brands like Corsair, Heineken, Monster and Ballantine's.
The venue will host corporate events, product launches, and meetups. These events provide a substantial revenue stream through venue hire fees and associated services. Below are some of the brands who have hosted events at Login before:
In line with Nouns' ethos, our co-working area will be a public good space for anyone to access and make use of the facilities.
In order to have a sustainable business we will also offer a subscription package for our most frequent users. The monthly subscription will give full time access to the venue during all weekdays, private meeting rooms and faster wi-fi. The package will also include other perks such as networking events, workshops and airdrops.
We anticipate generating $160,000 annually from venue memberships, with an initial target of 100 monthly members within the first year.
At the entrance visitors will have the option to create a smart wallet and use it for their activities within the venue. This service will also enable them to receive airdrops and participate in exclusive mints, generating revenue from partnerships and sponsorships.
Our venue will feature a restaurant and bar offering a range of food and drinks daily.
Currently the venue generates $120,000 annually from Food & Beverage services, with increased usage, we project a 70% revenue boost.
PlayDNA are partnering with LoginEXP and committing $735,000 USD in cash flow and products for the first 15 months of Nouns House operations covering over 50% of the projected operation's costs.
On top of that Login are committing their property at the heart of São Paulo to be transformed into Nouns House (permanently), valued at ~$600,000 USD, which also saves the project an estimated $10,000 USD/month in rent, compared to leasing a similarly sized space.
Existing Commitments:
$735,000 USD in cash contributions from LoginEXP and PlayDNA + property at the heart of São Paulo valued at ~$600,000 USD
Ask:
We are requesting $690K from Nouns to complete the funding necessary for this project, as follows:
This will enable us to fully realize this vision, permanently transforming the space into a landmark that embodies nounish values and attracts a global audience.
The costs for staff, stock and fixed costs represent only the increased operation of the venue due to the rebranding, including being open everyday of the week and extra events. LoginEXP will still cover the majority of these costs (70%).
This is a one-time investment from Nouns, we are building a business that will be self-sustainable within 15 months and won't need funding afterwards.
60% of the ask will be upfront for initial costs, with the remaining 40% streamed over 15 months.
We are also committing 5% of net profits to be returned to the DAO via the daily auction. Any Nouns acquired will be used to incentivize our community via delegations.
Here you can find the complete Business Plan.

Apprecciate the feedback from the community. We'll regroup and see how we can best iterate and turn this into a project the DAO can fully get behind. Thank you!
glad to hear on nouncil this morning that the team is planning to come back with a revised prop <3
big fan of the concept and team, and can tell a ton of work has already gone into this. if the cost was lower, or if the treasury was larger, would be a heck ya from me. it's just hard to justify deploying such a large % of the treasury for something that would certainly be beneficial, but lacks the scalability I'd like to see from props of this magnitude
i think this is really cool. i can’t get over the feeling of needing more info given the size of the ask tho. generally am supportive of seeing something like this being brought to life. just need a bit more
Here at Nouns Deli we are totally bullish on IRL venues for the dao, and this fits that bill for sure.
But…..
Our stance remains unchanged on this current version of Nouns House. While it’s certainly a cool concept, based on our experience in this field, we do not recommend setting a precedent where the dao begins funding a business's overhead costs.
Structuring it this way doesn’t at all create sustainable business model—in fact, it risks doing the opposite. If a business doesn’t need to account for everyday expenses, it can easily become complacent with what’s happening operationally. Stockpiling profits while the dao covers costs of goods, wages, taxes, and utilities for 15 months feels like a poor deal for the dao and creates a runway that extends far too long.
Funding the fit-out, as it directly aligns with brand awareness/ proliferation, marketing budgets, and event costs, makes total sense. However, in this proposal these numbers equal a significant amount of money, and when considering how far the US dollar goes in Brazil, these numbers seem particularly inflated.
love the team and idea but agree that more detail and/or lower ask makes sense. looking forward to a revised version

I've been struggling with this proposal since it was a candidate. This is a HEFTY ask for a local activation- and even if this were in an accessible city for me, I don't think I would go. This is not because of anything wrong with the prop but because I'm simply not the target audience- which is some astoundingly useless feedback. Compounding that, it's in a city/country I'm unfamiliar with, so I have no firsthand perspective on the potential cultural impact. Normally on a prop like this, I would consult with some of my local connections to get a better perspective- but in this case, the two people I would ask first are the ones proposing the prop.
It's for that reason that I've ultimately decided to go with a Yes. While usually I would default to No when I'm on the fence like this, I do trust TheBower and JP to know their city and the potential impact of a space like this. These are proven nounish builders who I believe have earned the trust needed for a risky ask like this.
With that said, I recognize that this prop is (at the moment) unlikely to pass- if the prop doesn't succeed this time, I would be much more secure in my Yes with a reduced ask (possibly by cutting down on the days open or some of the amenities like the creative zone? Not sure what's feasible here, happy to help workshop in any way i can!)
Whatever the outcome, I'd like to see something like this pass, and I'm looking forward to seeing where this team goes with this project.

Close one, a Nouncil photo finish at 25-24. JP and Bower came to Nouncil multiple times to pitch on a Thursday and obviously won many people over. Some voiced concerns on budget and plan and stated “million $$ props not passing on first go round should be normalized” which seems fair. In any eventuality, good luck and thanks for playing Nouns.

lunari: really enjoyed listening in when the team talked on Noun O'Clock :] I think it's important to keep in mind that this prop is only funding less than 50% of the overall costs, showing that the team & partners are committed (and that this is a very high-ticket opportunity). Would like to see a version of this pass (Rounds IRL btw?? very awesome idea)
ashe: +1
I'm always interested in IRL proposals, especially since Nouns has several successful IRL proposals that have brought many newcomers into the Nouns ecosystem. But for this proposal, I felt that too much funding was requested to create one IRL project in one proposal. Although the team is very competent and has a track record, I can't accept the reason for the Hell Yes Vote why we should give that much funding.

i realized irl experiences are pricey, not to mention revamping a physical space. its a worthwhile mission in a large city who is largely ignored by mainstream crypto media and institutions. if we want to onboard the next million, this is a great place to start.
I'm interested in IRL spaces, but I agree that the overall costs seem high, with a few nice to have (mint machine, smart wallet, creative zone, etc.) and a prolonged runway.
I know this is your ideal, but what would make this a hell yes for both PlayDNA/Login and Nouns DAO?
Love the idea but not the price. Would sponsor the recurring series of events though - that kind of continuous community energy is valuable
i think this is really cool. i can’t get over the feeling of needing more info given the size of the ask tho. generally am supportive of seeing something like this being brought to life. just need a bit more
Unable to support this endeavor without seeing more financials. Even a basic PNL would help me determine if this is a worthwhile endeavor for us to pursue.
This would help me compare current OpEx to prop ask.
If current revenue is lower than projections, I'd like to know what changes the team proposes tohelp reach those targets.
Did not understand how "smart wallet" factors into Business Model. Every item in this section should include current revenue.
Im interested in this prop but, considering the hefty ask and open questions, im pushing back a little in order to give the dao more time to deliberate.
Big thanks to playdna team for taking on a massive endeavor like this.
I'm very much in favor of this proposal, because of all the huge proposals the community has been through, this one undoubtedly brings a more professional, clear and objective business vision to promote the brand and bring funds to the community.
We've had huge million-dollar proposals pass through here and none of them have had a 100% effective return. Why not support a nouns house? we supported the purchase of a nouns cafe for around this amount and I see no reason why this proposal shouldn't go through. competent staff, they are well known in the community and deserve to have their physical space nounified to further promote nouns in Brazil in perpetuity.
Hey guys. Thanks for this and your continued passion for nouns. Im sorry... I just cant call this one a 'hell yes' when it comes to allocating 5% of the dao's funds. No hard feelings <3
i think this is really cool. i can’t get over the feeling of needing more info given the size of the ask tho. generally am supportive of seeing something like this being brought to life. just need a bit more
I'm not sure I understand the appeal of a nouns co-working space. Maybe I'm not the audience for something like this. I like the playDNA team but for a prop that's 5% of the treasury it's hard for this to feel like a hell yes.

Love the idea, and I’m all about IRL spaces, but this feels a bit large of a risk/investment to me. I’ve spent some time discussing fit-outs and design for IRL nouns spaces and think something meaningful could be achieved for less.
I understand the desire to propose all the different aspects of this prop, it can all bring value. But I think a lot can be added on in time with growth too, rather than all at once with such a big proposal. This may not be an option for the existing team/business rebrand. And maybe a space like this could be better off starting from scratch, without the overhead.
There’s a version of this I’d certainly support. But this one isn’t it unfortunately.
These are the ways we are going to bring everyone onchain. Voting for cool local crypto scenes and giving this team a platform to cook with.
The team and general idea of a Nouns home base irl sound dope. But it's tough to imagine how a 5% investment of the treasury would lead to Nouns growth. And I believe the larger the ask the higher the bar to have a detailed PNL, projections on Nounish ROI, etc.
Yea, this feels very odd. I love the idea of having more IRL bases around the world in key locations, however I also feel like we are just supplementing their teams salaries for the next 2 years. If everything was just going to the remodel, I would be much more interested in funding.

I recently attended the Base event at Login, a prime gaming facility in São Paulo's vibrant Beco do Batman, Known as The Art Neighborhood of the city. With deep ties to this space, including my own art being displayed there when it first opened, I can confidently say it’s an ideal location for Nouns House. This venue is already a creative hub with immense potential to become a central spot for the Nouns community! The venue's infrastructure and its location are set to foster the intersection of gaming, art, Web3, and creativity. Turning this into a nounish, Web3 workshop and gaming hub can significantly strengthen and expand our community.
Also, the team behind this proposal has proven their capability, and given my work with Instituto Skate Cuida (skateboarding cares), I see numerous collaboration opportunities that could amplify Nouns House's impact. This project not only activates a key market in Brazil but also includes a mechanism to give back to the Nouns treasury through 5% of net profits, ensuring long-term sustainability. This is a unique chance to establish a lasting presence in São Paulo, bringing together gaming, art, and Web3 under the Nouns banner.
from what I've seen, jp knows how to throw events and have a good nounish time, voting for because of him - he also assured me this is weird. Long history of successful delivery from the bower and jp and honesty believe this will result in many new people joining the dao.

For the past two years, Nouns has funded public goods, ranging from governance platforms to open-source brands. What if we could take this further by providing physical infrastructure for Nouns and communities that resonate with us?

It is located in one of the most visited neighborhoods in São Paulo, Brazil, the world's fourth-largest city.
