At prop 512, our Nouns Pro Surfer showed web2 people what we can achieve with web3, demonstrating the possibilities of web3 by conquering a volcano and spotlighting the ⌐◨-◨ logo throughout. We raised awareness and sparked curiosity about the noggles. We exceeded our goals by adding PR and a new media channel, Woohoo Channel, which wasn't in our initial proposal. See all the data in our last update, "Things got Bigger".
Now that we’ve built a solid team with prop 512, we will bring even more value to the Nouns ecosystem.
After the success of prop 512, we want to dive deeper into Nouns. We've generated curiosity, and now we need to explain what Nouns is all about.
Intro / TLDR:
We want to highlight IRL Nounish experiences and showcase community works during a surf/road trip along the California coast. Our goal is to introduce Nouns to our audience in an engaging way, not just through interviews but as a comprehensive trip experience, such as Nouns Fest, Nouns Town, Noun Coffee and involve the community through interviews and participation in the episodes.
Woohoo channel has given Sunny the opportunity to have his own season, showcasing in YouTube (internationally) and on all their streaming channels in Brazil (Pay TV, Samsung TV, Pluto TV and others).
With a season of 5 episodes, each 15-20 minutes long, plus 5 social media teasers.
We are asking for $69k + 12 ETH to produce 5 episodes and 5 teasers over a 5-month full time commitment during a 23 days trip through California, delivering the episodes at the end of December/January.
So, why not make this a Sunny Nounish Season on the Woohoo Channel?
Surfing in California is more than just a sport, it's a lifestyle. It's one of the most iconic and visited surf spots in the world. Is a hub of innovation in surfing brands.
Through a 23 day road trip from San Diego to San Francisco, we are going to experience all the nounish things we can participate in while discovering the beautiful nature and waves along the California coast.
The team will be staying in a nounified motorhome, so we can easily chase the waves and be close to all the nounish activities during our trip. With that, we can always spotlight the noggles in all episodes and reinforce the brand for those who are watching.
Why a Motorhome? So we can attract attention on the streets, generate curiosity when parked at campgrounds or surf spots, and offer the possibility of one-on-one onboarding.
With community engagement and our Nounish experiences, we will be able to naturally explain what Nouns are. We will be present at all events, schedule meetings, interviewing Nounish folks and making plans for future days with them. This will provide content to showcase in all episodes about Nouns.
If this proposal passes, Rickyday's DMs will be open to set up all nounish experiences you think we should definitely show in our episodes, besides our events experiences, or who we should talk to. Every case is important to show our diversity, everything will be welcome as we build our episodes.
IT IS A SEASON FOR NOUNS!
We will create a document form for those interested in being featured, so we can provide a more detailed overview of how their proposal was funded and how everything worked.
One of the major issues with NounsDAO today is the lack of distribution impact for good proposals. No matter how excellent the content is, without a good distribution, it could fails to reach the intended audience.
Since Prop 512, we have been constantly thinking about that, which is why we partnered with Woohoo.
Why not unite forces to expand our reach? This proposal will be another great opportunity to showcase the Nouns world IRL, but in a unique way, from Sunny's team point of view.
WOOHOO is one of the first in Brazil to mix gaming, web3 and sports. Naturally, Sunny is perfect for this partnership, as an athlete who bridges both worlds web2/web3.
Media numbers info:
The launch episode and teaser will be released at the end of November on their YouTube channel, with the final episode coming out in December/January. It will be available on streaming platforms from mid-January or February.
Sunny has become a content creator for Woohoo, building his own Woohoo surf community in his hometown, Búzios, Rio de Janeiro, one of the five most internationally visited locations in Brazil.
Content Creation - All media during these five months will be posted in collaboration with @canalwoohoo (199k followers) and @woohoosurf (2.8k followers).
Sunny is the first Brazilian pro surfer to be sponsored with crypto (by Nouns) and to start creating a Woohoo surf community. Before and after our trip, we will hold small surf sessions around our hometown to engage with Sunny's fans. This will also be an opportunity to demonstrate how everything works with Web3 in a real-world context, face to face.
With our great work in partnership with Virei Notícia, we will continue to connect Prop 512 to this initiative, highlighting Sunny’s sponsorship and his presence in the Web3 and surf markets. This will help build visibility for Sunny and Nouns, aiming to onboard more people onchain.
HOW: Each episode will have its own nounish NFT available to mint (for free). Anyone who collects all five NFTs by the end of the season will be entered into a giveaway for a complete set of Sunny's merchandise, including t-shirts, an ecobag, a water bottle and a hat.
At the end of each episode, there will be a brief segment explaining how to claim the NFT using a QR code. This will allow us to track how many people downloaded and completed the collection.
During "Exploring LA", we are organizing a big surf class for all levels with Sunny's team.
Natural workout and warm-up with Charles, Sunny´s coach and certified by U.Natural Method.
Sunny, the Nouns Pro surfer, and Rickyday, an experienced surfer, will give surf lessons to our nounish folks, along with extras surf teacher if needed.
Every material (surfboards, wetsuits, etc.) will be provided by a partner surf school we are in contact with.
A maximum of 20 people can subscribe, and this includes a personalized Sunny’s trip t-shirt and eco bag. Bring your family, kids and friends, let´s have a SUNNY DAY.
We always try to show our audience the environmental importance of taking care of nature.
Nounifying Sequoia Forest in San Francisco
California's sequoias have a global impact despite their limited range. As climate change alters wave conditions through shifting storms, rising sea levels, and changing ocean currents, these trees help mitigate its effects by storing carbon dioxide (CO2) for thousands of years. Their study also inspires global conservation efforts to protect and restore ecosystems.
We're going to interview and highlight the work of the "Save the Redwoods League Foundation", showcasing all they do and demonstrating how Web3 can help them secure more funding for their efforts. For example: through Nouns and Vrbs.
We will produce high-quality content with team member Samira Chalom, screenwriter and director of prop 512, and a professional filmmaker, Gustavo Vieira, highlighting the Nouns logo. This pre-production phase aims to raise awareness and start integrating more Web3 content for Web2 audiences, ensuring they better understand our mission when they watch the episodes.
Our filmmaker and editor, Gustavo Vieira, from Prop 512, will be with us full-time from the moment the proposal is approved until the final episode is released.
As we did with Prop 512, we will keep you updated on what’s happening during our proposal period. At the end, we will provide a comprehensive update on impact, reach, and metrics, similar to our last update, "Things Got Bigger." We aim to keep than line going up!
Success can continue for months, as demonstrated by Prop 512:
Total: 69k USDC + 12 ETH
Multisig 2/4: Rickyday / Samchalom / Sunny / Thebower
We’re really grateful for the last opportunity and for your trust. We hope you all trust us again!
Sunny Pires - The Nouns Pro Surfer, sponsored by Nouns, main character.
Rickyday - Web3 builder/Sunny's and Nico manager/captain and Sailor Nouns founder, will lead the adventure, logistics and help direct the series.
Samira Chalom - Journalist, writer, and the docuseries director and screenwriter, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Charles - Sunny's father and coach, will support Sunny in the challenge and ensure he gives his best as a surfer for future championships, techniques, workouts and show how they work together.

Struggled to make up my mind on this. There are parts that i really like (i root for sunny!) but its not enough to turn it into a hell-yeah for me.
The choice of LA location/timing overlapping with Nounstown is interesting and could be a great call in a ’ the whole is greater than the sum of its parts’ sense, but its not obvious to me that’ll be the case.

The prior video has 4.3K views after a month, and I only saw a mention of Nouns at the beginning and end (not in the video itself, not even Noggles sunglasses in the many outdoor scenes). I feel that I can’t justify this large a cost without significant distribution and substantially more visibility of Nouns.
I do love the idea of it, but I view the spend as out of proportion with the potential impact. Would absolutely consider a cheaper version that e.g. uses a local crew to cut costs (which shouldn’t be hard to find in LA I presume)
I was a vocal critic of 512 which makes me even happier to be proven wrong, or different. Congrats to the crew on the fact that Things got Bigger!
Obviously I'm looking at this also as an addition to Nouns Town LA this year. And, an outlook for 2025.
Based on the outcome of 512 and the opportunity at hand that the team has created, this is a hell yes(!) for me.
The team has raised the bar in "figuring things out", making it bigger and creating their own opportunities.
I'm looking forward to this!
Probably the last time I would vote, an entourage to travel with Sunny. At total coverage by nouns.
This is a 110K USDC effective prop (69K+12E)
Sunny overall is a great athlete and rising pro surfer, and the first documentary was an interesting watch.
Woohoo channel collab seem one-directional because they are co-opting into the production instead of truly supporting it by sponsorsing a part of it. The prop also doesn't talk about what this distribution deal actually look like ? Are they retrofunding you some of production cost , sponsoring more episodes etc etc. Just surface level numbers do not mean much in this case.
Sunny is traveling with his crew and Nouns is paying full comp for this down to the park authorizations. Not sure if they looked at finding a local crew was explored (travel cost is 40% of your budget)
“It’s challenging to compare proposals, Nicaragua is a much cheaper country compared to the US. We are keeping our costs to a minimum to deliver a project of 5x higher quality (5 episodes) and produce a series that people will want to watch. This is a full-time 5-month project.” - Ricky's comment stuck with me. Why did this have to be done in California (historically an expensive location to fly in and film). Could you potentially achieve the same goal in a location which helps you achieve the documentary output and its core takeaway lessons?
I would be leaning yes at a lower cost because spirit of the proposal is in a right place. (I liked the previous prop)

Deeply appreciate creators who come back to Nouns with second props to make more Nounish things. See you in LA!

I'm glad you came back with an even better proposal this time. However, I would like to have an opinion on a few things in this proposal.
But I believe this team is very competent in realizing this proposal. Best support for your team!

Already said this on Noun O'Clock but I'll reiterate here: if you haven't yet, click on the Things Got Bigger propdate link. The work these folks put together on Prop 512 is incredible, and is more than enough for me to trust them with another project. Easy yes.
Let's help Nouns surf!
I echo some of the other positive support here. Love the grassroots on the ground feel of what the team is doing. Feel good sponsorship with storytelling and outward facing proliferation- Im in.
pretty split on this one because it's expensive and I feel like the follow-up is another proposal of the same style.
in order for this to continue to be worth spending on it needs to be a great onboarding tool for Nouns that can be shared outside the athletic community.
if this is achieved I'll feel good about funding this, hope you have an awesome time ⌐◨-◨

This is exactly the kind of content that sparks curiosity and interest to a large demographic. You don’t need to be a surfer to watch this and realise the possibilities and potential within this DAO. The team has already delivered great content and now locked in a solid distribution partner. We look forward to hopefully playing this on the screen at Nouns Deli. Love it!

First collaboration between the DAO and Sunny was a beautiful piece of production. Excited to watch the next one and love to have nouns fund people and their dreams.

Could this be accomplished with less funding? PizzaDAO feels this is a bit expensive, especially considering the video from the last proposal got only 4.3k views. This is also a larger ask than the last proposal.
Thank you for your feedback, and I appreciate you taking the time to review our proposal. Regarding the previous proposal, we managed to reach 4.3k organically without any incentives. Now, we are working on increasing these numbers and reaching a mass audience. We have just been approved by ANCINE (the national cinema agency), which allows us to participate in short film competitions and have our content featured on Woohoo Channel streamings, such as Samsung TV, Pay TV, and Pluto TV, all with daily viewers of 100k (Samsung) and 400k (Pay TV). The content is scheduled to air next month, you can see numbers at prop and propdate. We have done much more than just create a YouTube video, including Press Relations and IRL activities, as well as launching on streaming platforms for a broader audience.

We’ve had the pleasure of meeting Ricky and team on several occasions, they are truly dedicated nounish builders with ample capability to execute on their projects. The Nicaragua documentary was perfectly executed and the finished product is exceptional, we can’t wait to see this follow up!
We also want to note the significance of them acquiring distribution via Woohoo channel, it’s a well known pay tv channel with a huge audience. Congrats and good luck!
think this is cool and like the first vid but idk if nouns should be funding 100% of this down to the food, feel like you could buy your own food at least.
