Nounish Kitpas: Create a one-of-a-kind Noggle
Hi! Thank you for your continued support.
I am Makoto Tagawa, an artist.
Now, through Nouns Proposal 484, we have received many votes from you for our proposal "Nounish Art Workshop: From Japan to America" from March to April this year, and we have made our dream come true.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for your support. Now, we are about to take the next step. Because we were able to finish the proposal mentioned earlier with great success. For a report on our activities, please check the video or propdate at the link below.

And what we would like to propose this time is as follows
⌐◨-◨ Product development of 24 colors of Nounish Kitpas NEW COLOR ⌐◨-◨
⌐◨-◨ Why is Nounish developing new colors for Kitpas? ︎
・About Kitpas and Nihon Rikagaku Kogyo Co.
Kitpas, water-soluble solid markers made by Nihon Rikagaku Kogyo Co. are our favorite art materials. Made from rice wax, which is environmentally and human health friendly, Kitpas can be used to draw like crayons or dissolved in water to draw like watercolor paints. In addition, Nihon Rikagaku Kogyo Co., Ltd. is a company whose more than 70% of its employees are handicapped and manufactures and sells products such as chalk for blackboards. (prop484 gave these to children when we conducted an art workshop at an elementary school and library in Illinois.)
・About Colorblindness
I, Makoto Tagawa, an artist, am colorblind.
We have been using "Kitpas Large" among other Kitpas products. Since it is a 12-color set, we have never mistaken one color for another because there are so few colors in the set.
However, when we picked up the then newly released 24-color set, an incident occurred. To my surprise, I made many mistakes in the colors I picked up. I have always had the characteristic of color blindness since I was a child. To elaborate on this characteristic, I sometimes see red, green, and brown as the same color. I also often mistake pink for gray. In other words, since the 12 colors became 24, the new colors added as new colors, "green and gray," "blue-green and light purple," "gray and pink," "dark blue and purple," and "light orange and beige," are often mistakenly painted on. (Image of colors that were painted by mistake: gray and green.)
Currently, the box itself is marked with color names, but there are no color names on the wrapping paper, which makes it very difficult to put it back in its original position if you have the characteristic of color blindness. In fact, I could not put the Kitpas back in their original position with the correct color names, because there was a high probability that the colors were arranged in a different order.
・Solution
The solution is to put the color names on the roll of paper that is wrapped around the kitpas. However, this comes at a great cost. Kitpas is originally rolled with the same roll of paper in a uniform manner. I imagine that this is due to the fact that they employ employees with intellectual disabilities to devise and simplify the work system, thereby reducing the burden on the manufacturing process. Therefore, we assume that the different color names on the rolls and the manual winding of those different rolls will be costly. In this proposal, we would like to solve this problem and include in the product development of the 24 new colors to be added to the product, the color names to be written on the wrapping paper.
・The use of the Kitpas Color Tool
It was Afrideva and midas who confronted me with this characteristic of my nature. They have developed a tool to help me in my production that extracts the colors used in the scanned image and tells me which colors are close to which colors in Kitpas. This has dramatically accelerated the production status of the fan art I am currently working on for Nouns Voter.
Blue Azul あお、Yellow Amarillo きいろ、Red Rojo あか
・ "Japanese, English, Spanish" support
Japanese, English, and Spanish" support for color names, product usage instructions, and other text used on packaging. At the Nounish Art Workshop, we met children of various languages in American cities. One of the things we noticed was the large number of Spanish speakers. Of course, there are many other languages in the world, but since we can only write what is feasible in this proposal, at a minimum, we will support Spanish, English, and Japanese.
︎・Giving back to the Nouns community
Along with the Kitpas we are producing, we will manufacture 600 sets of limited edition packages of BigShot paper Noggles. With them, we will hold a workshop to make one-of-a-kind Noggles by drawing on the paper Noggles with Kitpas.
100 set of Nounish Kitpas will be donated to Nounish School in Uganda funded byproposal 477
