I love the idea of a Lil Nouns to Nouns pathway, and would happily gift a Noun for this + stream validator yield. It’s the upfront payment that I have more of an issue with when the yield compared to the payment is quite small.

I'm a fan of pipe's work, especially the work in the document titled "appendix". It's an ongoing work of art, a blog, a magazine, lore, ... it's all in one. I can see how all of the proposed initiatives are puzzle pieces to a larger work of Nouns, however I agree that it would be great if there was a smaller scope to for a first phase of this mega roadmap and therefor decreased fund request - Pipe's Explorer Grant.

i like pip's work on aesthetics but just feel the prop needs more focus. would be supportive of doubling down on one 'main' thing

Great uses of chapter 5 key words just fall short for me still tho.

i would be supportive of nouns streaming a 32 eth validator amount of yield indefinitely (i'm generally opposed to indefinite streams b/c we never cancel them but for a ~ 1 ETH per year amount of a "maintenance cost" type stream open to it). this type of "endowment" style funding of projects i just don't think it's feasible for us. if you assume 4% yield the dao has to send out 25x the annual spend in lump sum. we couldn't fund anything close to the amount of things we fund and i also find it a hard decision for the dao to make. we're always learning. we might be sure we want to fund something for 1 year. MAYBE 2-3 years. but if you force a question about if we want to fund something forever i think the answer for most things is likely we're not sure and we're probably not incentive aligned with the recipient to fund it in that way (even if we really trust the builder which is this case i do believe pipe has the best intentions and has been a valuable community member for a long time but the point still holds).

Supporters appreciated the innovative approach to funding and the focus on developing tools specific to Noun'o'clock. I like Pipe's work but it's more "avant garde" than I think nouns is comfortable spending on right now. In good times I can see this passing but this isn't a hell yes in the bear market for me

Covered in other VWRs, these are multiple props in one. Please decouple physical device angle from the application product and they can be props of their own.

Not a fan of Validator setup to fund a project (before demand of such has been established) . If anything, ask funding to build out the project - and use project's own revenue if any to get to a validator.

Dream mode is a nice concept, i am a skeptic that it's a product angle which will barely see demand outside a handful of hardcore nouns fans.

Honestly, not sure how to dissect this proposal. Noun o'clock is basically run by the Yellow team and I don't see them listed on the proposal as participants. Seems like lots of upgradable contracts need to happen to make this possible but which team and trusted participants is doing that work. It also seems like the payments are just going to a single individual when the work is highly complex and not trivial to execute. This proposal seems like 3/4 different proposals all combined together and could be isolated to each their own. It all seems interesting, but way too convoluted.

I've linked the product design studio I'd be working with for the noc tracker in the prop. This is a world-class studio and you can see many art/design projects on their site including an automated robot bar, a VR gaming chair, smallest phone charger in the world, multiple art installations, laser shows at music festivals across the globe etc. I have helped them with multiple projects since university (founder is one of my best friends from Brunel Uni where we studied product design together). I'm deliberately trying to keep the irl product design brief fairly open to let us get as creative as possible. The noc tracker will not be a traditional clock, the device requires internet/bluetooth connectivity in order to accurately track noc and there will be a sensory experience every day when it happens. The aesthetics of the product will be rooted in the origins of nouns itself and we will present design iterations before manufacturing anything.

This proposal is framed as a design research project because it is all encompassing. I feel uniquely positioned to pursue this for Nouns as I have a 1 year running start via Lil Nouns, who are supporting noc already. I have been writing in the background for the past year, documenting this journey and reflecting on the past ~15yrs working as a freelancer in design studios, fintech startups, health-tech startups and launching multiple EVM protocols of my own. In my writings I am comparing these different worlds of design and why public domain is so powerful and liberating - using Nouns as the key Case Study. Whilst this may feel like "3 props in 1" all of these aspects, imo, are core to noun o'clock and can help people understand and appreciate the beauty of Nouns as a whole. There is also a clear focus here of curating/selecting which noun is born each day. I wanted to set some deliverables that people could get excited about and would serve as marketing for noun o'clock. Also, there will be a fee for adding a dream noun to the gallery to mint (~0.1e) and this protocol will be revenue generating, but obviously this will take some time and effort to make significant revenue here.

I am requesting Noun 911 as I love this Noun and my personal compensation from this prop is $0, as everything will be reinvested into these tools and initiatives. I'm doing this for the love of the game.

Big supporter of celebrating ⌐ⓝ°ⓒ and love that Pipe is doing this stuff. I like the idea of the reserving of traits to mint. I am interested by the node idea to provide some extra funding to give away, while never eating into the capital, AND supporting the network. It's all interesting and fun, and a yes from me.

I largely agree with Mono, I think this proposal as written is a bit hard to follow because it does seem like a few proposals combined. I do like the idea of a validator yield being able to self sustain projects, but would like it to be a DAO owned validator (which I know is a strange concept because of the whole 'decentralization' aspect of things). While I know Pipe is an active member of the community, I want to vote on the proposal at hand, which to me - in its current form - needs to be fleshed out a bit more for a 120-150k value range. I would like to see it written in a way with clear deliverables vs just a 'let him cook' approach which I feel like the physical clock is, as I'm not sure if you have any experience with clock making or any connections etc, would be great to add in.

Hey Pipe, I appreciate the energy and love toward Nouns. I've seen what you do and the trivia and think it's nice, but I'm afraid I can't vote FOR. Mainly because I believe this is three props in one.

Dream Mode This sounds cool. I'm glad you revised the previous prop. 10e is a no-brainer, though I'm not sure about the 32e validator to perpetually fund this project framed as a research one. I'd love to see this up and running with some PMF before trying to maintain it forever. I'd wait for Prop 582 and fund this with a stream of funds. Alternatively, adding a fee to make it sustainable would be a better approach. The 32e validator makes it a no-go for me.

Physical device I'd love to see a physical device that tracks Nouns o' clock, but I'd also expect to see more details about how many you could produce, by when, the distribution, and all that stuff.

Trivia & games I have interacted with the trivia and find it fun, but it seems to be targeted to a niche, inside a niche, inside a niche. I don't see it 'massively' growing. I assume you are asking for Noun 911 as compensation (?), but I don't know why when you just passed a six-month proposal in LilNouns to do this work. In general, I'd expect to see a Noun request after seeing the impact result of a specific proposal. Still, I'm not sure the trivia & games in their current form are worth a Noun.

I love Probe and use it almost on a daily basis during the TNS shows and more so now with the /noc trivia. Makes it super easy to search for every part of the noun and through the trivia, I have learned a lot of little hidden secrets about some of those traits. Props to Pipe and Index for digging so deeply into the artwork. Dream mode looks rad too. We've been taking fomo requests on TNS for a while and it's a cool to see people win an auction on a noun they vibe with and dream mode seems like a great next step up of building your 100% ideal noun with all the traits you want. And whatever this physical NOC tracker will be, I need one.

Using a validator to fund maintenance for all of this is a super interesting idea too.
