- We have been offering a free Web3 education service in Japan through Crypto Learning Club (a.k.a CLC).
- We plan to rebrand CLC and launch kiriko.wtf globally, an onchain examination protocol targeting Web3 users.
- We request Nouns DAO to contribute $87,500(=25ETH) as the initial sponsor for our new service, kiriko.wtf.
- We will create a global public good sponsored by Nouns DAO and significantly enhance the brand value of Nouns DAO.
Background
- Only a small portion of the Nouns DAO treasury (2.5%) is allocated to tech products for people unfamiliar with Nouns DAO.
- It is necessary to raise awareness of Nouns DAO through CC0 and public goods products by funding more for external-facing projects.
- See the detail tech proposal analytics in jiji.eth's blog post
Who We Are
Crypto Learning Club was launched in Japan with the concept of helping non-crypto users become Web3 users by learning about Web3 through videos and articles, and improving their understanding by taking tests.
Currently, one year after its release:
Web App users: 2.5k+ YouTube subscribers: 1.3k+ X followers: 1k
Why do we shift into onchain ?
According to Vitalik's paper on Decentralized Society (Decentralized Society: Finding Web3's Soul), the concept of accumulating a "soul" in onchain wallets will become the mainstream of the internet in the future.
Therefore, we decided to shift our approach from local, Web2-style services to creating a foundational system for learning that can be used globally by Web3 users.
What is Kiriko
Kiriko is offered as a completely free, permissionless onchain examination protocol (see the documentation, and join warpcast channel).
kiriko.wtf is one of the client application implementations of the Kiriko protocol. Take a look at the mock site (mock.kiriko.wtf) we are developing.
Imagine a world where anyone can create exams, record questions and answers, grade responses, and issue attestations - all onchain. As users prove their knowledge and build their onchain history, they create a digital identity that expands the possibilities for Web3 applications.
Our focus has been on these blockchain-based examinations, viewing them as a crucial element in the development of what some call a digital "soul" - a comprehensive record of one's knowledge, skills, and achievements stored securely onchain.
What will Kiriko bring?
Onchain Education Standard
A crucial aspect of the long-term development of the Kiriko ecosystem is the creation of subDAOs that will develop onchain certification exams. By establishing subDAOs for exam creation in various fields, we can build new decentralized certification exams.
The goal of the Kiriko ecosystem is to elevate onchain certification exams to the same level of international credibility as exams like the GMAT, IELTS, and TOEFL.
Real-time Onchain Quiz Events for Culture-fit Community Building
Kiriko enables anyone to easily host real-time on-chain quiz(exam) events, serving multiple purposes within communities.
Initially, it functions as an enjoyable tool for community engagement, while in the long term, it evolves into a powerful mechanism for governance and evaluation.
Through these quizzes, community insights and practices can be tested and reinforced, effectively contributing to ongoing community education and cultural alignment.
A World That Embraces Diverse Values
Education is not limited to compulsory education or university research. People who excel in specific fields should be recognized. Through Kiriko, the knowledge of experts in previously overlooked fields can be validated onchain, providing opportunities to discover new talents.
Sustainability of Kiriko
Kiriko is a public good project, and it will continue to operate primarily through donations and sponsorships.
However, we are not solely dependent on Nouns DAO.
Currently, there are already 4 companies sponsoring us at a scale of $5,000 to $10,000, which gives us confidence in building a sustainable ecosystem.
Considering the history of initiatives like Wikipedia, Gitcoin, and many other charitable organizations, we believe that building a sustainable ecosystem is entirely feasible by long-term sponsorships and donations from a wide range of entities without relying on Nouns DAO.
Scope of this Proposal
We will build an MVP and an experimental onchain examination to validate the concept of onchain examinations.
For Kiriko
- Implement the Core Protocol
- Develop an MVP of the Client Application
- Create 5 experimental examinations and hold real-time quiz events.
- Increase the number of sponsor companies and projects from the current 4 to 15
- Engage over 300 examinees
For Nouns DAO
- List on the kiriko.wtf sponsor page as title sponsor
- Monthly Inside Nouns series on our YouTube channel.
- We will conduct monthly interviews with individuals leading projects funded by Nouns DAO to widely promote and expand awareness of the Nouns DAO ecosystem among both the internal Nouns community and the wider Japanese audience.
- We'll do this activity for 10 month from August 2024 - June 2025.
Budget
To achieve the above scope, we are honored to seek sponsorship from NounsDAO as our primary funding source.
We plan to complement this with additional company suponsors and our own self-funding efforts, ensuring a robust financial foundation for our project.
To demonstrate the value of our work, we commit to not requesting additional funds for Kiriko-related activities for at least one year.
After observing our activities for a year, if the Nouns community finds it worthwhile to continue sponsoring us, we hope the DAO will consider ongoing sponsorship for the following year and beyond.
Future Benefits for Nouns DAO
We are confident that creating new public good products sponsored by Nouns DAO will play a significant role in enhancing Nouns DAO's brand value.
Additionally, further integration with Nouns DAO can be considered, such as:
- Integration with $NOGS and $nouns
- Creating a Nounish Exam SubDAO & conducting Nounish Exams
- Utilizing the results for DAO governance
We believe that Nouns DAO can become an icon of public good in Web3.
Development team with high standards
To develop high-quality software as a team, establishing refined coding standards and a robust system for writing tests is essential. We have created team development rules, including developing custom ESLint modules.
In 2022, we established a development team base in Hanoi, Vietnam, enabling us to provide high-quality software at a relatively low cost.
Additionally, we have published educational materials, such as creating courses for Solidity in Japanese (solidity-training-webinar, solidity-bootcamp, solidity-training).
We have also participated in multiple IRL events in Japan and abroad.

FAQ
Is This Proposal Nounish? - Yes, Fund Nouns-Originated Public Goods!
Some people might think this proposal isn't directly related to Nouns DAO.
However, releasing widely-used public good services from Nouns DAO can enhance Nouns DAO's reputation in the Ethereum-centered crypto community.
Through our activities in Nouns DAO, we've realized that we aren't just a DAO promoting the Nouns character and Noggles, but we are naturally supporting technological advancements and socially good causes centered around Ethereum.
So far, tech proposals have primarily focused on products for internal use within Nouns DAO (and this infrastructure building is indeed important), but expanding Nouns DAO's recognition through public good services that external users can also utilize can also be considered Nounish.
Will Kiriko use the same software as the currently provided Crypto Learning Club app?
No, Kiriko and CLC are completely different software. Kiriko is a protocol that enables real-time on-chain examinations. We will create the Kiriko protocol along with a client app that allows for creating exams, hosting events, and taking tests.
As a result, we will discontinue the current CLC service. However, we will continue to provide educational content for free, primarily through our YouTube channel.
Is Kiriko a Learn to Earn?
No, it's not. Kiriko is a protocol implemented on smart contracts. Quizzes with Learn to Earn incentives are just one example of its potential applications.
We envision Kiriko being widely used as a public good service for developing one's on-chain persona from an educational perspective.
What are Experimental Exams?
One of the exams we envision is an experimental blockchain certification exam that we will create as a demonstration.
The remaining four envisioned exams will be developed through partnerships with communities such as Nouns and other DAOs, as kiriko.wtf is freely available for anyone to use. These exams can be utilized to measure the level of knowledge acquisition within each community.
How effective is Nouns' exposure on YouTube?
The Nouns Community has various projects running simultaneously. Through project interviews, you can learn about the activities taking place within the Nouns internal community. It not only serves as an explanation for those outside the community but also helps deepen mutual understanding within the community.
Furthermore, in Japan, DAOs have recently been gaining a lot of attention, and Nouns DAO is one of the most famous DAOs worldwide, well-known even in Japan. We believe these videos will serve as an opportunity for many companies and creators to learn more about Nouns DAO. As awareness of Nouns DAO spreads, there's a possibility that new proposals and nouners may emerge from Japan in the future.
P.S. We want to engage more deeply with the community ⌐◨-◨
Lastly
We, eguegu.eth and jiji.eth, are submitting our first proposal since joining Nouns DAO.
Over the past year, we have mainly contributed to Nouns DAO through information dissemination and community education. However, as developers, we are increasingly eager to contribute by creating tangible products.
Leveraging our experience in running educational platforms, we aim to develop external public good products to shape onchain personas in the educational field.
With a genuine desire to create something beneficial for everyone, we hope to launch this service with sponsorship from Nouns DAO ⌐◨-◨.
Rate
Based on the exchange rate of 1 ETH = $3,500 on June 23, 2024, we are requesting 25 ETH for $87,500.
