This is an excellent way to encourage new Nouns buyers. It signals that you don't need to worry as much about the aesthetics of a Noun at auction, since as long as there's a treasury Noun that resonates with you, there is a possibility that you can swap for it.

If this becomes more standard, it would be nice to not have it go through governance and have this be automated via the NounSwap smart contract. But we can deal with that when required.

This is sweet, in favor of swapping. Especially as the pickle is quite cool on its own, and paperclip or paperclip labs just makes sense. Agree with jesse that voting for proposals like these, in the way we do now seems somewhat inefficient.

I'm in favor of this swap. As someone who chose the name "frog" many years ago entirely because I liked the frog nouns head and wanted it to be my PFP (had to settle for a lil noun though) I'm sympathetic to others wanting certain traits. This doesn't change much, just gives a great team a Noun they love.

I agree with Jesse in that I'm not bothered by people wanting to swap noun for noun and think it's a waste of gas to have everyone vote for something that should be allowed. We need some way to allow people to swap their nouns (within reason... maybe only 1 swap then it starts to cost money... or do it like ENS auctions)

that said, i think we need to find a more scalable way to do this. not only is it not an efficient use of everyone's time, it's also pretty expensive to reimburse ETH for these kinds of votes!

Nouncil voters have decided in favor of this proposal, with 21 votes supporting the initiative. Supporters emphasized the value of allowing new members to acquire a Noun that best represents their Nounish persona, despite concerns about non-fungibility. They also appreciated the innovative approach and the fact that the proposers are the first to use their product, which could inspire others to follow suit. Spencer and Cole have given a lot of their time and energy this year thinking about nouns and working on nounish things, and to my knowledge they haven’t asked for or received much in the way of compensation. Facilitating this swap so that they can own their forever Paperclip Noun feels like a very easy thing for the DAO to do as an initial token of appreciation for their efforts.
