I love the idea of funding multiple teams, & investing in Farcaster infrastructure at this stage could be huge for Nouns later down the line.

Makes a lot of sense for Nouns to lean into the builder energy on Farcaster. Excited for this!

outside of the use cases floated by Nouns thought leaders, curious to see novel means of data visualization and filtering in the context of social feeds/ graphs

Although I had concerns about fracturing conversations but using an outside client, this was prior to the current influx of new users so this does now make sense to explore. As we move forward, I'd like to see consideration for upkeep of any client so we don't end up with unnecessary tech debt.

the history of nouns public communication has been a journey of migrating from offchain / centralized things that doesn't serve us well (discord failed b/c moderation started becoming controversial when there's a single official space; twitter failed b/c it's hard for new members of the community to be heard and in general the posts to not be drowned out by everything else; discourse was in general a shit show) to now most entirely on onchain vote reasons / signal feedback viewed on camp and farcaster nouns channel.

it's just so abundantly clear that for an onchain community like nouns there's so much advantages of being on farcaster (e.g. it's easier to grow a mint economy when you can 1-tap mint straight from the social communication platform everyone is already on). also all the public communications tied to the address / fid allows for further emergent identity to be built such that we can leverage it for sybil resistance and getting better onchain understanding of our fanbase etc.

anyhow, i'm super supportive of us investing in the public communication infrastructure that is winning out and proving to be where our community is continuing to just be at. this mandated round prop is such a welcome step in that direction.

there are two nouns farcaster clients that i'm dying to see:

• warpcast quality mobile app that allows for algos to be plug-and-play: one of the PRIMARY ways that i think decentralized social can be liberating is if the algos can be community built and user selected. the whole world living in one algo on X is so suffocating but X as a company has their own business incentives to not let users take control of their own attention. we need communities to be able to build algos that are suited for them and users to pick what works for them. i understand that buliding a great algo would be its own big project (potentially own company sized task) but we'd be happy to fund nouns algo building as a separate round in the future as well.

• reddit like client that focuses on more sticky discovery and long form conversation: casts have character limits that limit someone to raise a long form governance topic and also casts are so ephemeral things get lost too easily. nouns channel i feel works well for ppl that are visiting it multiple times a day but doesn't work particularly well for someone that visits it once a day or once every few days. need a place to be able to find the popular content and good long form discussions that are happening over a longer arc.

I was at the point of "no more clients" for a while... but this is not just another client round. The more I think about this, the more excited I get about intertwining the Nouns ecosystem with farcaster.

I've been dreaming of a nouns aggregator for way too long... and I think this is the infra it should be built upon. I would love to participate in one of the teams and share all the ideas I've had for "the ultimate nouns frontend".

This is a no brainer for me. Would love to see Nouns grow with Farcaster and I believe we have many talented builders in our ecosystem to make it happen.

I like more nounish stuff on farcaster frames. My only concern is by funding more communications channels, you increase the burden of too many communications. I'd like to see more props for frames that are actually novel things for nouns to do and talk about, rather than places to talk.

There should be a super "FOR" for proposals like this one.
Proposals like this help push innovation while giving Nouns a big push in terms of communication and synchrony with other primitives in the ecosystem.

My only concern is that it shouldn't happen as it did with the Private Voting proposal. I really want someone driving the relationship with the teams building, ensure that not only they deliver, but whatever they do it ends up in a good place where they can keep their work (potentially with a second individual proposal).

mandate should be less about clients and more about leveraging farcaster in unique ways that can benefit nouns + crypto as a whole. ultimately this is an opportunity for nouns to capture high energy devs from farcaster and direct their attention to building for our community. the requirements for mobile friendliness etc, direct attention to the wrong things and waste time for builders that can be spent adding net new exp to nouns. we don't want new clients, we want new games. i am voting for because i think we need new energy in the system in hopes that when this reaches prop house, voters + chris will adjust

As soon as this prop went up, 2 client teams from the Farcaster ecosystem reached out, asked questions and expressed interest in participating. Neynar, the leading providing of Hubs and Farcaster API's also reached out offering a 90% discount for any teams working on a Nouns client. This was all before any real promotion or outreach to the Farcaster developer community. Bullish on this prop and the participation in this mandated round from both Farcaster and Nouns builders.
