Currents by Propdates
TL;DR: Continue funding Onnnnnion and Martin to improve Propdates and build more infrastructure around payments and accountability
Problem
A majority of proposals do not use streams and do not post updates because they have no incentive to do so. In order to increase accountability in the DAO and long-term proposal quality, we need to increase usage of streams and Propdates.
Solution
To solve this, we suggest an upgrade to the current Nouns streaming contracts, which were a fork of Sablier by the Verbs team built in 2022.
We propose Currents, an NFT-based streaming approach, with new features that fit the ecosystem's needs:
- More streaming strategies: linear, exponential, cliffs, etc..
- Propdates-required: currents will need an update within the last 30 days to unlock, increasing accountability
- Transferable: claiming access belong to the NFT, so contributors can transfer to other wallets if needed
- Onchain Metadata: just a nice touch to have the NFT render the current's data nicely :-)
You can read the technical document here.
In the next three months, we will:
- Finish the Currents contracts (we've already begun work on them), get them fully tested, and audited.
- Integrate Currents into Propdates, as well as other Nouns front-ends
- Continue bringing upgrades and quality of life improvements to Propdates (including new designs). This might include features such as community updates, Prop House updates, personal channels, etc.

Team
- Martin (front-end, full-time, 6 ETH / month): built Propdates, Mogu, Payroll
- Onnnnion (contracts, full-time, 6 ETH / month): built Propdates v2 contracts, designed Currents contracts
We will also contract solidity development and design help with the rest of the funds. We would also like to run a community contest for the art of the Current NFTs. This
Ask
