Throwing weight behind zero weight votes with reason.
Reliable, hard-working, nounish team and a cool idea to activate and onboard more artists to nouns. Can't wait to see the results!
excited to see the results this brings & to see this team working together.
The Amigos made a decision!

The support system with two delivery phases seems great to me and Training for artists will help traditional artists enter the world without fear Nouns and web3"
mczm3ro | "It will be incredible to see so many artists contributing their art. The awards, voting and voting system, as well as the ArtistHub, seem to me to be super good proposals that empower the artist. 🎨"

seems like a solid program brought forth by folks that care deeply about nouns culture. i think this prop house round winning based slow token distribution approach is still really underrated and should be utilized / explored more. excited to follow what comes out of this!
This tid bit from mike sold me: "We plan on promoting the program through web2 media outreach. Literally emailing and connecting with publishers and writers via social channels. "
These sorts of programs are fantastic onboarding experiences for artists into Nouns and the broader ecosystem.
Increases Network Value. Increases minting culture of Nouns. Has potential for exponent returns if evencone artist makes a hit. Would encourage the council to select potential hitmakers over nice people we like.
In support of having more diverse artist onboarded into Nouns ecosystem

Thanks for clarification on outreach strategy @mikegood — i feel good about voting for this now.
I'm listed on this prop, but it's largely in spirit.
I have been able to watch Mike and SQ discuss, work, and plan this program for quite some time now. A lot of thought, care, and effort has gone into this, and I expect the same if funded.
These guys are all day, everyday nouns and care a lot about the space. I personally think it's worth funding a small group of honest, well intended ecosystem members who in turn will work to onboard, nurture, and fund future nouns participants.
GM!
Thanks to everyone for the votes and feedback so far! We really appreciate all of the comments coming in.
Some thoughts from the team to address some of the concerns coming in so far:
We didn't want to promise too much or lead too much with artists as we are hoping for the program to be organic. With that said we've talked a lot about quality and plan on crafting some well thought out round prompts to solicit GREAT art from amazing artists.
For the initial outreach and spreading of the program the plan is multifaceted:
We plan on promoting the program through web2 media outreach. Literally emailing and connecting with publishers and writers via social channels.
We plan on tapping into other web3 communities and user-bases. We have a network here at Nouns- why not lean in and use our friends who have built up connections and followings?
We’ve been honing in on artists we’d like to invite to join the program. A sort of “Explore” aspect. We have a chat with dozens of artists we’ve found while exploring Zora and other platforms we plan on reaching out to directly.
We plan to directly ask large, well known and sought after artists in the space to contribute to the program. The hope is that we can land a few artists that drive a LOT of mints in the name of Nouns and CC0. We’ll make this organic and won’t spam artists we don’t know through tasteful outreach.
We plan on reaching out to IRL artists not onboarded to web3. A ‘side-quest’ for the team is to (hopefully) onboard 20% of the artists to web3. Full wallet creation through minting as a new contributor.
We didn’t add this to the prop, because we thought it might over complicate it. But think it’s important to share a bit more info about the tactics we plan on taking to attract new, fresh, and key participants to the program.
We’ve already gotten some great feedback from artists and interest from Artists outside of the typical Nouns artist roster. A big part of this is to onboard artists that aren’t just illustrators to really help cast a wider halo out into the real world, and break our ‘Nouns bubble.’ We want support photographers, musicians, textile artists and muralists to while bringing their works onchain and linking Nouns with their existing fans and audiences.
Hope this provides some additional context around our plan! We're really excited to show you all what we can do for Nouns! :)
I've seen the success of the PPP program in Lil Nouns and excited to see this scaled up version for Nouns. Great team and look forward to seeing what they deliver
+1 supriyo. overall bullish about supporting creative work and as many artists as possible. Interesting mechanism slowly introducing artists as curators, worth exploring imo.
I generally like props that enable a lot of creators/builders via subrounds. I also like the potential for replenishment via minting fees. nounish.
great proposal from strong builders. think we should absolutely support artists and this feels reasonable and effective.
Nouns is the intersection of art & tech and the leader in cc0 art. This is a great way to encourage experimentation by artists and encourage them to consider cc0 for their work. Would love to see this experiment and see more nounish art in the world!

Overall supportive of artist programs.
100 however feels like a lot and i am unsure of the proposed curation mechanism to maintain a high bar for art / artists (it can fall into the trap of what Jihad has pointed out in his comments).
economies are the result of their measured participants daily interactions and decisions. an onchain minting economy is no different.
humans are driven by incentives, if an economy is lacking participants, they need to be incentivized to participate.
done right, this is the type of program that could receive superchain grants, and/ or collaborate with fine art institutions and publications.
the ask is a small bet on a group of committed Nouns ecosystem members, looking to organize, empower, and expand the existing Nounish arts ecosystem in phases
ton of synergies with everything happening in the ecosystem currently imo and no reason to believe this group won’t see it through and find ways to over deliver.
Congrats to MikeGood for his Noun!
As part of my participation in the UnfilteredNoun experiment, VWRs will be minted via bound.wtf

I believe a large part of the value prop here is building a sybil resistant and inclusive body of voters that are all artists. The small grants aspect, imo, is a great way to onboard these artists in a low friction (and fun) way.
The program total of '100 grants' is the upper-limit and each round will only onboard artists that seem a great fit rather than just trying to fill all 20 slots to make up numbers for each round. That being said, there is an abundance of great artists out there from diverse backgrounds and cultures who are yet to learn about Nouns.
The founding team is wholly committed to spreading the word far and wide, onboarding amazing artists and making this a massive success for Nouns, this is only the beginning.
TLDR: An exploratory art program where artists are funded to create and mint CC0 art for Nouns. Selected artists become the voters on future rounds, creating a perpetual sybil resistant small grants body; For Artists, by Artists.
Through this proposal we will:
💰 Small Grants for Artists Eligible artists will receive .3 ETH per proposal, distributed through rounds on Prop.House. We’ll run 5 rounds with 6 ETH each, a total of 30 ETH distributed to ~100 artists.
🔗 An Artist Hub (ArtistProgram.org) We are currently developing ArtistProgram.org as a proof of concept. As the program progresses, the site will showcase art created by participants in the Artist Program. Our plans for the website expansion include:
https://www.artistprogram.org/
💬 Onboard and Educate We’ll attract artists with small grants, but educate them on CC0 and the public domain. Our goal is to encourage onboarding of new web3 participants — We’ll help artists create wallets (if needed), mint artwork to earn rewards on their art, for life. A goal will be to create long-standing community members through a great experience with CC0, ethereum and the Nouns ecosystem.
🎨 For Artists, by Artists The program will begin with five program directors voting for artists in the Inaugural Round. As artists are accepted into the program and their artwork is delivered they’ll be airdropped one artist voting token which can be used as a voting token on future funding rounds launched after receiving the token — Reducing the Director influence over artist selection.
*By the end of this program we will have built a body of 100 artists, selected by their peers, and who can vote on future rounds.
🎬 Program Directors The program directors will retain one voting token each to begin the process and be voters throughout the life of the program;
💸 CC0 Requirements Artists will be required to sign CC0 releases designating the artwork produced for the program is fully licensed for the public domain.
Ⓜ️ Minting Artwork Artists will be required to mint their work where a portion of the fees is shared with the DAO and to help sustain and bring visibility to the project.
It is mandatory for artists to mint their work as CC0 on an Ethereum-compatible blockchain. While sharing 10% of the fees with the DAO is encouraged to support and enhance the project, this contribution is not obligatory.
➕ More Details on how the Program will Flow for Participants:
➕ FAQ:
Note: This is an experiment, rules can be changed by program directors if we feel like there is a major flaw or issue. All of this will be listed in detail on ArtistProgram.org before the rounds begin.
The Artist Program is an idea we came up with after running two experiments in Lil Nouns, the PPP (Perpetual POAP Program) and the Airdropoooor Program.
