static donations to charity are probably less interesting than a zillion ongoing prop-house activations in this direction , esp if you take the view that it is less important what we fund than that we are funding often and with high & expansive attention. imo nouns maybe works best funding props that are max on feels and min on roi/marketing etc & so treating charity as a siloed/passive % of treasury stream i hope isn't normalized. Tho, its a grounding baseline and imo it would be nice to perform better in this space than, for ex the 5%/yr minimum that us operating foundations must meet- again ideally through projects but still ok if passive contributions is all we can agree on.

This prop was somewhat contentious in Nouncil as the votes below show. Unfortunately the poll closed without reaching a vote threshold to lean any particular direction, therefore we have abstained.

I worked closely with Endaoment during Constitution DAO and can attest to their excellence. Donations that are via a stream are an easy yes. We can evaluate the use of funds and continue to preserve optionality.

I have concerns around creating this long of a stream and would rather see more specific focus for the use of funds. (eg directed to a pool of web3 related charitable efforts for example.)
This will likely pass but if it doesnât I would vote for a 1 year stream with focused distribution.

endaoment is the primer team working on moving charitable giving onchain and the fact that we can donate via an onchain stream to a pool that provides quadratic matching funding to ALL donations happening through the platform is wild and really highlights the potential for acceleration of good that a world built onchain can make and feel super excited and grateful to support this prop!
Love the team, the initiative and the long term vision. I had reservations that this would be another Charity Prop where we get one tweet out of it and the organization moves on but I met with the team about it and they assured me they wanted to do long-term co-marketing with Nouns and would engage with the Nouns Community to decide what would be impactful and interesting. Given that, this is Nounish, Doing Good and has high Network Value potential.
The work they have already done with other nouners and communities has been great. I know that nouns esports will be working under their model and supporting more non-profit teams is a great nounish model.
