Hi All, Pierre here from Nouns Whisky in South Africa.
As mentioned in my Whisky Prop 208: I would research various consumables that we’ll tie into the ecosystem that we are currently building in South Africa while the whisky ages. We’ve currently sold 10 barrels: 3 to Noun12, 1 to 0xDigitalOil, 3 to a collector in the Netherlands, and 3 via the Distillery. As we launched on September 7th, this is a great start, as the sales amount to 400 bottles of Nouns Whisky that are now owned and will be brought into the world. We will continue to sell barrels / bottles, but keep in mind that this will be done slowly and surely. Doing it the right way is important. The Dao owns 100 barrels (4000 bottles), and our primary responsibility is to deliver that in 2027. If the Dao chooses to sell all 4000 bottles in South Africa, we can do that easily via the Distillery, stores, and events. The DAO can then choose to have that income returned to the treasury or reinvest it to further build Nouns Africa.
With that being said, I decided to focus on Nouns Coffee in South Africa, as the IP has already been designed and paid for, and the product launched in the USA with a successful proof of concept. If this prop is sponsored and passes, this will be a second case study in my opinion, a ‘how to guide’ by using existing Nouns consumable IP and how to implement and introduce it to the public in another country.
There is a festival called Cotton Fest that is being held in Johannesburg on the 24th of February 2024 with an attendance of 7000 to 10000 people. This will be the perfect opportunity to hand out 1000 free paper Noggles that we received from Klim and launch http://www.nouns.africa and Nouns Coffee.
The goal here is to build a long-term relationship with Cotton Fest over the next 3 years so that we can stock Nouns Whisky as well at the festival when it matures (Nouns Whisky owned by the Dao or the Distillery). Secondly, to put Nouns in the hands of general festival goers, trendsetters, and musicians and get them to engage with the Nouns Africa website and use their free vouchers to place a coffee bag order after the event. With a large number of people at the festival, I’m confident that trendsetters will be taking photos with Noggles and posting them on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook which is always a win-win scenario. Cotton Fest is one of the biggest events in Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg during the summer. The Nouns Africa website will be used primarily to showcase Nouns Coffee, Nouns Whisky, and all things Nouns from around the world. This will be the first Nouns activation of its type in Africa.
BUDGET: 10 ETH ($20 000)
FIRST PHASE - Cotton Fest Marketing / Nouns Africa Launch
SECOND PHASE - Coffee Bag Production
THIRD PHASE - Legal & Finance
There will be additional phases to bring Nouns Coffee / Nouns Africa to market and separate props will be put forward to fund these opportunities:
I have built the Nouns Africa Website http://www.nouns.africa so that voters can see how this prop will look from a buyer's perspective. The website is a work in progress and will be ready to launch on the 24th of February if this prop passes and we’re able to introduce Nouns DAO to the trendsetters in Johannesburg at: http://www.cottonfest.co.za
Thanks for taking the time to read this prop.
