I would love a high-quality iOS governance app. I do a lot of reading/thinking on mobile so the need is there personally.
Mobile apps live or die by their design sensibilities. And while 5oc is clearly an accomplished engineer, its also clear iOS design, and UI/UX overall, isnt 5oc's area of expertise.
On a related note, i think the way to go with software props these days is to first generate a small but fervent user base, then ask for retro and/or continuous funding. Wilson/voter is the best example of this, but also martin/mogu.
Love Fiveocean's work overall but I agree with Willpapper's reasoning.
A mobile governance client could be fun but given the form factor, i think a nouns app is better suited for many non-governance things as well that can be an unlock for people looking to get acquainted to the nouns ecosystem.

agree with most against vote reasons. this is a high ask, unclear on iOS expertise level / quality of the app, no actual users yet (like voter or mogu), etc. while 5oceans has delivered great community events (with the sailing prop) and appreciate the idea here, I'm against this particular prop.

Apple is very hostile to Ethereum. I do not believe we should support their platforms until they change their policies.
First of all: I am a big fan of Five's work for the Nouns ecosystem, and am grateful for their dedicated and longstanding contributions.
In looking at the prop, it's useful to look at precedent around similar asks for Nouns-related software. In the category of "teams with mostly finished projects", I'm looking at Agora, Nouns Builder, and (to a lesser extent) Nounish as comparable examples, ranging 200 ETH - 1K ETH. For individual projects that are more experimental, I'm looking at Voter.wtf, Mogu, and others in the 10 - 15 ETH range.
I took a look at the Github repo, though I am by no means a Swift developer. It seemed that the project was still in an early state, the majority of the code was written a little over two weeks ago, and it was primarily driven by a solo developer. This would fit the same pattern as Voter.wtf and Mogu.
Voter.wtf and Mogu were both made by solo developers, but at the time of their prop they were already working and their ask was 1/5th of the size. I would consider a proposal that was more in line with the precedent set by Voter.wtf/Mogu, of a smaller size and with greater readiness (such as a Testflight link and written documentation). As much as I appreciate the project's goals, I don't view it as ready for the requested funding amount compared to precedent.

I don't think like the DAO needs it right now and 67 eth is a lot
Happy to consider funding this retroactively
would be excited at a lower ask and with a real use case / usage metrics
5 is talented but generic clients don't excite me. we should be extending the game / innovating wherever possible
I am a fan of Five and his energy but I neither see the strong need for this, especially at this cost, nor am I frankly excited by what ive seen in descriptions, mockups, and designs so far.
I hope you keep building stuff though.

don't think it is enough of a problem to warrant 67 eth. showcasing some usage first would make this more digestible much like voter.wtf did.
(also, i meant to vote FOR #367)
We don't have enough demand for this and it doesn't solve enough of a constraint to be valuable to the DAO. History of our app development has been low use at high cost, even if execution is good. House of Nouns is a good example, after 100+ ETH of development and aimed at solving real gov use issues we all agreed on, no one uses it and there's no decentralized debate on it.
If an effective iOS app can be delivered for < 20 ETH, then my mind could be changed, but I still doubt it will get sufficient use.
We propose developing an iOS native app that enables Nouners to engage in governance activities on the go. We believe the app will enhance voter participation and democratize decision-making. The app will also serve as a valuable onboarding tool for new members and complement our existing governance clients.
We have been developing an iOS app for NounsDAO. Our primary objective is to boost voter participation by providing Nouners with a user-friendly app that simplifies interactions with the Nouns protocol. We firmly believe that casting votes should be as effortless as sending a text message. The core features will empower Nouners and community members to access the latest information and interact seamlessly with the Nouns protocol. Additionally, our experimental features will open doors to new onboarding methods, enhance community engagement and discover new utility. This app will be a valuable addition to existing governance clients, such as Nounsagora, Voter, Mmmogu, Nounoclock, Shenounigans, and many others.
